I am a songwriter and, under the Castleman Corkscrew umbrella, I collaborate with other songwriters in the New Forest/Bournemouth area, operating as musician (guitar, bass, keys, vocals), arranger and/or producer. I am not a session musician (been there...) - I only work with musicians of my choice for musical reasons (ie not commercial reasons), and I produce recordings because I enjoy playing, and would like to own them myself.
I hope you enjoy the music! I enjoyed making it - and everyone else involved says they did too - so by my criteria, it's already successful!
Please comment/message and come to a gig if your in our area (or if we're in yours). I look forward to seeing you sometime soon!!!
____________
2007 was very productive.
Following the successful releases of Lou Brown's 'What Are You Singing About?' and Victor Chetcuti's 'Something Else', I am just putting the final touches to my solo release, 'Shadow of Mercury'.
In June I toured Russia with Sudarshan (including a gig in a 'disused' firing range!), took a songwriting trip across France and Switzerland, and did the usual UK festival trail for the rest of the summer. The year finished with a sell-out tour of Ireland with Tinderbox (covering bass duties). Those guys are animals - it was like being on the road with Motley Crue!!!
2008 will include a US tour with Lou and a follow-on solo tour of California. We will also be launching 'Shadow of Mercury' in February, Tinderbox's new album in the spring, and there are plans in place to record with Pachu Mama, Andrea Soler and The Douglas Firs - (and, no doubt, more work with Lou and Vic!).
